Join the North Star PTA!
The North Star PTA supports our school by providing funds for instructional materials, school improvement projects, family activities and various educational programs. Members are required to re-enroll each year in order to stay active in the PTA. Membership is $10 for one adult and $15 for two adults. Help us achieve 100% participation! Lunchtime visits start Monday September 26th and end Friday May 12th. There are no parent lunches on delayed opening of the school as schedule is changed.

UPCOMING EVENTS AND NEWS
It is time to pre order carnival tickets for preview week and "will call". Either complete the form within the carnival letter and send in to the PTA with payment or pay online (no need to send in a form). To have your tickets labelled with names all pre orders are due by March 29th. We are asking for parent volunteers to help at preview week, and also help with getting pre orders ready. Please sign up for a shift or two. For the list of local businesses and individuals who have kindly donated items to the carnival silent auction and baskets; list of silent auction items so far; and further details on the carnival see our carnival web page.
Plans are being put into place for the schools 2017 Lip Sync event, which this year does include the option of a skit! Further details will be coming home with students soon.
At least one parent / guardian per group of performers is required to attend an information session to get full information about the event. The dates for the sessions are as follows:
•Monday 3/20 @ 6:30pm, leading straight into our regularly scheduled PTA meeting @ 7:00 •Tuesday, 3/28 @ 8:10am oFamilies should plan to park in the lower lot and enter the building through the exterior blue café doors. oStudents may enter, with their parent, and will dismiss from the café to their classrooms at 8:35. oKindly, do not park in the bus lot AND do not buzz through the Main Office. •Wednesday, 3/29 @ 3:10pm oFamilies should plan to park in the lower lot and enter the building through the exterior blue café doors. oFamilies may send a dismissal note to the office on the morning of 3/29 if they would like their child to dismiss to the café at 3:35. oKindly, do not park in the bus lot AND do not buzz through the Main Office. •Friday, 4/7 @ 4:10pm, leading straight into the Carnival which opens at 4:30 oFamilies should plan to park wherever possible. oFamilies should enter through the kindergarten entrance, with plans to hold the meeting in room 110.
PTA BOARD/COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS FOR 2017/18

B+ FIFTH GRADE COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
Fifth grade has started their Annual B+ Foundation Community Service Project, for further details read their letter which includes a link to donate click here.
It is not too late to join the PTA. Your membership dues support the PTA which in turn benefits North Star students and staff. Send in your completed membership form and payment, or do everything online.
HELP THE OUTDOOR CLASSROOM GROW
The outdoor classroom is a wonderful space for all students to enjoy, and to maximize the learning opportunities supplies are needed. Classroom supplies will be kept in a wagon and general supplies will be stored in the outdoor classroom shed.
If possible please sign up for an item (or two) and then send into school marked for "outdoor classroom".
