Join the North Star PTA!
The North Star PTA supports our school by providing funds for instructional materials, school improvement projects, family activities and various educational programs. Members are required to re-enroll each year in order to stay active in the PTA. Membership is $10 for one adult and $15 for two adults. Help us achieve 100% participation! We will be updating our budget and voting on new items from last month. We will have an update on Carnival planning and the Library renovation. Jessica McCarthy will be coming to talk about the outdoor classroom.
Carnival Planning has begun!
Please sign up to shop for one of the many baskets that will be raffled off at the Carnival on Friday, March 23, 2018. Please sign up to help during Basket Preview Week (3/19-3/23/18). Help the students place tickets in bags for a chance to win one of the many baskets. We need your help on Carnival Night. It takes our entire North Star family to make our carnival successful. Please sign up to help monitor a game, sell food, or sell tickets.

Please sign up to contribute to our staff lunch on March 29, 2018. We will provide the main course. We need your help with plates, utensils, drinks, sides, and desserts.
School Supplies for 2018-2019 are HERE!
It is almost time to order your school supplies for next school year. (check back soon) Ordering is easy and online. All supplies are packaged for your child and specific for your child's grade level. All supplies come with labels and the best part is NO fighting the crowds in the stores in August. Ordering ends June 30th. If you have any questions, email Kristen Dassel.
Did you miss Tile Night?
We have 69 more tiles to sell and we want to sell them all to make the walls of North Star look extra special. If you missed Tile Night or want to paint more tiles, please sign up to paint a tile (or two or three). Please read the directions carefully! Once you sign up and pay, you are saved the tiles. Your tiles will not be saved without payment. Any questions, email Kristen Dassel.
Update on Box Tops!
We have collect 3,100 box tops, 204 bonus box tops so far this year! We have earned $821.10, the goal for the year is $1000. I would love to pass that goal, so please keep clipping box tops and sending them into school! The next submission deadline is March 1st!
Did you know Box tops has an app! You register for free on the website, download the app, buy products, scan your receipt and our school earns money. It’s very simple! For more information check out the Box Tops website at www.boxtops4education.com.
Help the Outdoor Classroom
The school's Outdoor Classroom Committee is selling Pickets ($10 each) and Rocks ($5) to be painted. The rocks will be made into a "river bed path". All proceeds from the picket and stone sales will go directly to further development of the outdoor classroom. If you are interested in purchasing these items, please contact Kristen Roebke.

Still Need Spirit Wear?
If anyone missed the deadline for online spirit wear orders, the PTA has some limited spirit wear shirts and shorts in stock that can be purchased anytime. Please contact Stephanie Conway for information.
Box Tops for Education
Support North Star through the Box Tops for Education program. Cut out the box tops from everyday household products and food packaging and send them into school. We earn 10 cents for each box top collected. (Please make sure the codes and expiration dates are not torn off). Attach the box tops to a box tops sheet or put them in a baggie and drop them into the bin marked "Box Tops for Education", located in the school vestibule.

Join the PTA!
Please consider joining the PTA. Single memberships are $10 and two parent/guardian memberships are $15. By joining the PTA, some of your money goes to the many activities, assemblies, etc that are provided for the kids of North Star by the PTA. Complete the membership form or you can pay online on the North Star PTA CheddarUp page. Joining doesn't mean you have to volunteer. It helps the kids, but if you would like to volunteer, there will be many opportunities throughout the year. Please contact Kristen Dassel to volunteer or look for the sign up genius link for various events throughout the year.
