Join the North Star PTA!
The North Star PTA supports our school by providing funds for instructional materials, school improvement projects, family activities and various educational programs.  Members are required to re-enroll each year in order to stay active in the PTA. Membership is $10 for one adult and $15 for two adults. Help us achieve 100% participation! Complete this form to join.

Lost & Found Items
Items in the North Star Lost and Found will be bagged up and donated on June 1st. Please check the Lost and Found for your child’s missing items as soon as possible. 

Afternoon Bear Care Will Be Closed On June 5th
Bear Care will be closed on the afternoon of June 5th (the last day of school). Due to inclement weather this winter, their staff development was rescheduled and this was the only time to prepare for the upcoming summer camp. Morning care will be available on June 5th, however you will need to pick up your child at dismissal (remember it’s a half day!) or make alternate plans for afternoon care. If you have any questions, please refer them to the Regional Director, Cheryl Rice at crice@bgclubs.org. 

From the Nurse's Office:
Its Strep Season! Just a reminder that school-aged children have the highest rate of "strep infections" because of close contact with other children. A child diagnosed with strep throat may not return to school until 24 hours have passed from when antibiotics were started. The symptoms of strep throat are sore throat, fever, headache, pain with swallowing, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and enlarged/tender lymph nodes.

YEARBOOK NEWS
Yearbook orders are now being taken.  Orders and payments are due by Wednesday May 27th and each yearbook costs $15. For the order form please click here

FIELD DAY
Field day is to be help on Friday May 29 (rain date Monday June 1), with K-2 participating from 10.00-12.00 and then 3-5 from 12.30-2.30.  Planning for the event is well under way and on the day itself we need lots of volunteers, please sign up here.

PTA BOARD / COMMITTEE 2015-2016
Please consider volunteering to be a committee chair for 2015/16. We need a Legislative chair and also a Red Clay Parent Association Rep. If you are interested or would like any further details, please contact Ann Pollock

LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS
Mrs. Minchini needs help checking books in and out, helping children find books, shelving books, doing inventory and helping organize the library.  Sign Up here. You must complete the school's mandatory parent volunteer training at a PTA meeting prior to volunteering at the library.

Parent Volunteer Training
Volunteers who will be working with small groups or individual students are required to attend a training workshop. This training is not required for parents who will be Mystery Readers readers and read-around volunteers. Volunteers for PTA-sponsored events do not require this training unless otherwise specified.
