The North Star PTA supports our school by providing funds for instructional materials, school improvement projects, family activities and various educational programs. Members are required to re-enroll each year in order to stay active in the PTA. Membership is $10 for one adult and $15 for two adults. Help us achieve 100% participation! Complete this form to join.

DECEMBER 10 PTA MEETING 9:15 AM
Learn more about the ThinkFirst for Kids program, which will be presented to North Star's 3rd grade classes through Christiana Care.
We will receive this week all of your orders from Original Works. A table will be set up in school near the main office. All orders containing fragile items will need to be picked up in person by an adult (parents, grandparents, neighbor).
Orders containing fragile items will not be sent home with your child. For orders containing only non-fragile items you have the choice of either picking up on Thursday or Friday, or we will send home with your children on Monday the 17th all of the orders that were not picked up this week.
This is only for orders containing only non-fragile items.
The schedule for orders pick-up is as follows:
Thursday Dec. 12th from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM
Thursday Dec. 12th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM **ONLY evening hours !**
Friday Dec. 13th from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM
==> We would really appreciate some help at the distribution table by the main office on Thursday and Friday.If you are able to help, please sign up and come help us distribute orders to parents who are picking up their keepsakes.

A sample of Mrs. Slesinski's artwork is going to be on exhibit at the DE Art Museum - November 2, 2013 – January 19, 2014. The museum has FREE admission on Sundays!

News from the Nurse
It’s not late to get a flu shot, Costco is giving them for $14.99, might even be less with insurance, and you don’t have to be a Costco member!
- All fourth graders have had vision/hearing screening, plus a height and weight check this year!
- All letters that reported non passing screenings have been sent to families ( 11/12/13).
- The second grade students are in the process of screening with only 2 classes left! All results will be shared before Thanksgiving Break!
- Next the Kindergarten students will be screened.
- Fifth graders will have an orthopedic screen for posture/scoliosis during PE class, results will be shared with families.
Lost & Found
Please ask your children to look for lost items ASAP (up front after the first set of doors, hanging up), all unclaimed items will be donated the week before Thanksgiving. Also, remember to label, that will help us return items to the correct owner.
